The new Riverview Park. Currently, we have raised $40,245.87 in donations.
We talked about the next steps for this spring and summer. The town has the seven benches. Names of donors, wording on plaques and locations to be decided.
There has been one donation for a tree.
There will be built a side trail out to the river and clear a good sized area that can be seeded. Two picnic tables can be placed in this area. There will also be for widening the trail and adding more wood chips. Also, the bridge over the wet spot will be rebuilt.
The Port Hope Garden club will also be installing a pollinator garden. The pollinator garden will be built at the base of the small hill down from Cavan Street just north of a large tree.
We decided that there will be 4 benches under the shade structure as indicated in the picture. There will be a bench in the grass area near the entrance to the trail and another one in the grass area near the exit from the trail. The seventh bench will be located near the pollinator garden.
The town will clear the deadfall to create an open area with grass for two picnic tables.
