Port Hope Rotary Christmas Holiday Market

For many years the Port Hope Rotary Club sold hams and fruit cakes as a fund raising activity as the holiday season approached. Rotarians accepted orders and delivered these items to those who supported this activity. When Covid-19 changed our lives, the club had to devise a new fund raising plan.

Hence the Christmas Holiday Market was initiated which the Club has implemented for the past several years. This Market allowed our customer supporters to order and pay on line for their purchases. This has been a successful fundraising venture which has allowed the Club to provide a greater variety of products from which purchases can be made. In addition to the hams we introduced 8 further gift suggestions.

Beeworks created specialty gift bags and honey products. Queenies Bakeshop provided 600 delicious shortbread cookies. A four pack of different chocolate bars from Donini Chocolates proved to be a popular purchase. Last year we introduced our large bundle of assorted Christmas greens which included an outdoor array of forest sprigs along with a seasonal large bow. Friends of Rotary, along with a few of our Rotary members, collected these latter items from the forest of the donors farm. Collectively the Christmas Market has become a successful fundraiser in which a number of our members become involved as a community project.
